My name is Feebs, and this is my weight-loss/fitness blog, prompted by Cassey Ho's Blogilates 12-week fat-loss meal plan challenge. I'm not going to let it die afterwards, though, since it's totally a good idea, imho, to have a public record of my diet/fitness regime so that I can be held accountable for my weight loss haha. :)

Hey everyone! I created this blog to be a fitness/progress blog as I embark on my weight-loss journey. Scary! I was inspired to document all my pain (and subsequent gain!) by Cassey at Blogilates, specifically thanks to her 12-week fat-loss meal-plan that she’s rolling out TOMORROW. Aaaaaah. 

Here’s a little bit about myself:

Age: 22
Height: 5’1”
SW: 137
GW: 105

Chest: 38”
Waist: 32”
Hips: 38”
Thigh: 21”
Bicep: 12”

Misc: Well, I never really know what to say during this part in case I sound like EVERY OTHER TWENTY-SOMETHING OUT THERE, but here goes. I go to university at an urban campus and I love being downtown all day, even though I don’t live in the dorms and so don’t really get to experience the nightlife. :( Because my family lives right outside the city, I stayed at home to save the $10k/year room and board costs. It restricts my social life a little, but I can’t complain because it saves me quite a lot of money in the long run haha. 

About my fitness habits: I used to be part of a ballet company/school growing up, and I was really serious about it. (Think three hours Mon/Tues, two for the rest of the week and rehearsals on Sat/Sun for god knows how long). I was never really skinny, but I was certainly fit and flexible. Unfortunately, due to my genetics, I was never really the ~ballerina body type~ and it was uncomfortably clear to me that I would never go very far as a ballerina every time I was in class and standing next to my tall, willowy classmates. I’m built more like gymnast Shawn Johnson rather than Natalie Portman in Black Swan. It was really discouraging. 

I quit when I was 13 due to huge amounts of drama, and then did NOTHING. Going from hardcore exercise every day of the week to doing absolutely nothing took an immediate toll of my body. My highest weight in high school was ~155, and I was miserable.  I wore baggy jeans and even baggier sweatshirts to hide my body every single day. 

When I started college around 18yo, something amazing happened: I dropped over 20lbs without even noticing it! My food habits changed (I was out of the house a lot and so wasn’t around snack food when I was bored), plus my activity level changed (I was walking around a lot more). I was amazed! Now, part of this was genetics, the same thing happened to my mom when she was around 18/19, but I didn’t care, I was finally becoming happy with my body. I wasn’t totally content, but I could fit into skinny jeans and have them look good, which was an amazing feeling. 

Unfortunately, I’ve put on some weight since then, and even if the scale didn’t tell me so, the way I feel/look would. I tend to put weight on around my middle which sucks, so I can instantly tell when I’m gaining because my muffin top starts to grow and I feel bloated. Not cool!

So anyway, I’m hoping that this will help jumpstart my diet a little and push me into losing that muffin top! 

The only thing I’m a little concerned about is that since I live at home, I don’t have much control over the fridge/what we eat. I’m thinking of printing out the plan and giving it to my parents and asking them if I could use the mini fridge as my own personal fridge and make myself my own meals instead of eating what the family eats. What do you guys think?
